MagicaIs a wizard necessarily male? If you browse the Wizard Wednesday archives, you’ll see that, when they’re not appliances, the answer is probably yes. The female equivalent of a wizard is a sorceress, but is a sorceress just a female wizard, or is she another thing entirely? These are the questions that inform the scope of Wizard Wednesday.

I’m giving Magica De Spell a wizard pass because I need to post something, and because she’s cool, and because I’m definitely not going to start doing Sorceress Sundays.

Magica covets Uncle Scrooge’s Number One Dime and wants to melt it in the fires of Mount Vesuvius. I mentioned Uncle Scrooge last week too, but I assure you that this is (probably) not an Uncle Scrooge fan blog (if you’re cultured and sophisticated (like me), you’re bound to reference Uncle Scrooge in your writings now and then, sometimes often).

Magica is a powerful lady, a borderline wizard, and a saucy duck. Did you come to find this page by Binging “saucy duck”? If so, welcome, and please check out my music.

Other people have written more and better articles about Magica De Spell than I could even imagine attempting here (I have a very limited imagination), so you may as well go read some. I also recommend the Uncle Scrooge comics themselves. You can find them in comic book stores.
