Wizard Wednesday: Weather Wizard
Weather Wizard is one of The Flash’s enemies. He can control the weather with his Weather-Wand (obviously!). In the old days, he sported a snazzy green elf outfit with a big yellow belt. I like the superhero trend of wearing masquerade party masks, as if they would protect your identity. It’s probably a fashion thing.
Weather Wizard was created by Carmine Infantino and John Broome in Flash #110, published by DC Comics (comic book speak for “Detective Comics Comics”). Though I wasn’t born when the comics were published, the material that writers and artists created for DC Comics in the 50s through the 70s is my favorite from that publisher. If I had it my way, the only format in which DC could publish reprinted material would be yellowing, slightly torn 100 Page Super Spectaculars. The comics they were producing at the time were generally colorful and crazy, with loads of talent on display.
I’d tell you to seek out some 60s Flash trades, but I have no those comics have even been collected, so you should do the even better thing and find some actual back issues. That’s how this stuff is meant to be read!
