Bodice Ripper single coverI’m happy to say that the first single from Wizard Planet is finally out and ready for your ears, right here. It took me a long time to decide which track was going to be the the one, and up until Friday I had a completely different song in mind. I had moment of clarity late that night, though, and I knew “Bodice Ripper” had to be the song. I went to Urban Renewals on Saturday, bought a few bags of romance novels (they sell books by the bag there), went home, and created the cover art over the weekend. Here’s a high resolution copy of it if you want to really pore over the details.

The b-side to “Bodice Ripper” is a track from the Wizard Planet sessions that didn’t make the album. When I originally played the album’s 18 demos for my friends and braintrust, “Oh Oh Oh Girl Oh” got great feedback overall, but was divisive. Some loved it, some not-loved it. I took some time after the album came out to finish it up, mix it, and get it mastered, and now you can decide for yourself!

The two song single costs just $1 to download, and you can stream it for free. If you already have the album, and you don’t want to re-purchase “Bodice Ripper,” you can download “Oh Oh Oh Girl Oh” for just 50 cents! You can also buy “Bodice Ripper” alone for 50 cents, if that’s how you want to play it. Fan club members, of course, will be getting the whole thing for free. For the moment, it’s only available on Bandcamp, but I may add it to the Claw Solutions store.

The next single will be out sometime this Spring. I’m not sure how many singles I’ll put out, total (it partly depends on how this first one does), but I definitely have another b-side or two or three to get out there.

To celebrate this release, I’ve cropped the cover art to some popular monitor sizes, so you can plaster some “Bodice Ripper” wallpaper on your desktop! Here you go: 1280 x 800 / 1280 x 1024 / 1366 x 768 / 1920 x 1080
